I have a part that is "u" shaped that I need to take about .03 off the top of. I want my cutter path to follow the "u" shape of the part. When i use the "mill 2 axis facing" command, it just wants to mill straight across the part as if it were square. Is there another way to do this, or am i just doing something wrong? Thanks Bink |

| Here's 2 ways: First is a Pocket op with zero depth. Second is Profile with zero depth and large stock remaining number (multi passes) and right angle leadin long enough to plunge down off of part. I recall reading that boundaries in 2d facing was in the works for later release. moldmker |

| I think Bobcad kinda screwed up the naming of the Stock remaining and Spring passes, but that's my opinion. If you take the Stock and divide by Spring pass, that's your approx. stepover amount. The neg. Side allowance lets the tool overlap the edge of the part. Play around with the numbers and recompute and you'll see how they work. Only use the Rough tool, leave the Finish tool at 0 dia.. Good luck, moldmker |
