| Swag, I apologize for not getting back to you. It didnt dawn on me until I was on my way to the Doc's office with one of my little guys, that I didn't respond to your offer. I do appreciate the assistance. The problem is, the post will miss the first hole I choose in a drilling operation after a milling operation. There is one other issue that eludes me now as I havent written a program using Bobcad for a while. Thank you for your effort. Chris, Thanks for responding I appreciate that as well. Can you shed a little light on the salesguy issues? I've had them start out at $1500 and 6 minutes later they were at $250 for the same product. You just don't seem like the kind that would condone such practices. Scott |

| or When you run the program the machine skips the first hole? V21 or older version of BobCAD are very easy to use and customize. The thing is when it comes to posting it's like writing a program by hand. Every step other then the main blocks or code are done by the user. I think if you understood better how that version of BobCAD works you would be so upset with it. Have you ever heard of cimco edit, ( how ever it's spelled I forgot ) Any way it's a great editor that allows you to save blocks of code and call them up when you need them. This is the same was BobCAD V15-V21 works. The difference is the editor is connected to a CAD package where you can draw tool path, select it and convert it to G1 2 3's in 2D or 3D It's a very basic package but with a little work with the post and macro's you can get it to do just about anything. *** You can get it to do just about anything, the software really doesn't do anything for you besides creating some tool path. If you need help editing the post you could always fill out a post request form to BobCAD. Even though you stupid sales guy told you there is not support for v20, that's really not true. You can edit the post yourself or have BobCAD do one for you. The AGE 2 or 3 that you are running is a really common machine and BobCAD has lot's of those post on there website. post your post ( lol ) in the form and show us what you want done to it , and I am sure I can help or someone else in this form can. I haven't used V20 in a while, but I have used ever version from 15 -23 so I am sure I can help. The post work the same for V18 - V21. You can do some scripting and things like that but I don't think that is needed for what you are doing. With some machine I have used in the past I needed to drill a dummy hole first then the holes I wanted to drill. I am not sure why but if I didn't do this the machine would always skip my first hole and cut the rest.... Any way I look forward to you putting you V20 post on here so I can take a crack at it! |
