have a Reninshaw probe on my Thermwood CNC. I created a point file at the machine. Can I use Bobcad to reverse plots the points into the cad program. Thermwood gave me info on how to do this with Mastercam, but since they don't support the Bobcad program they couldn't tell me anything. I am running V22 and V20 if that makes a difference. The file coming from the machine with the point coordinates will be a text file. |

| You can do this in V20 What you do is load the xyz file into the nc cam. Then you but a G01 at the top of the code Select all the code, then do a geometry for nc I think it's under edit in the nc cam. What the software will do it plot lines going from point to point based on your point file. Once you have this you can edit the paths and create surfaces. Give a try and let me know how it works. |

| Thanks again for the reply. I actually got it to work a while back. I took the point program and deleted the lines it drew between the points. Then I used the three point arc and trimmed everything. I worked OK, but next time I am going to spend more time cleaning it up. This was for a stainless steel undermount sink bowl in a solid surface counter top and some of my transitions needed a good bit of sanding. The DXF they sent me for the sink bowl cutout was off by more than an inch (good thing I checked before sending it to the machine). Using the probe and the point program definitely saved me some time. Zach F |
