Question autocad with bob-cad?

I am still with ver.21, one thing I would like to have is what is called handles or grip , when you select your drawing or an entity you can click those and stretch it the way you want. I can get my hand on autocad 2008 , do you know if it is compatible with bob-cad, and will I be able to stretch my drawing in the Z axis?
In other words, can drawings done with bob-cad, be modified in autocad, and then use in bob-cad?

Claude, I have ver 20 and 22. In 20 I can go back and forth between Acad and BobCad as long as I use the DXF files. When I tried to use BobCad DWG files in Acad I had problems. As always as they say 'your mileage may vary'.

DXF is the best way to exchange drawings. All versions of Autocad (about V13 to current) I have used including the latest can stretch single or multiple entities.

The DWG formats between the two are not the same.
DXF level for the current Bobcad version is not known to me. At one point in time they could only support up to version 12 or 13 of DXF. What does this mean? You can transfer lines, cirlces, points, polygons fine but as you get into 3D features, meshes, and edges you have problems.

Cool autocad bobcad 3d

Some programs tells you can import dxf files but the 3d component is all over the place and the drawing look like a poor photocopy...I need to modify 3d drawing in autocad and use them in bob-cad for machining.

If you are doing solids then export/import as a solid. Try stp or igs files. 3D dxf is a problem for many other CAD programs. I think they like to mix it up every year to keep others from using it.
