Ok, I'm new to the whole CAD/CAM world, but have a couple years of CNC experience, a class of autocad drafting, and a tendency toward self flagellation. I managed to stumble through the CAD side of bobcad/cam and make a 3d wireframe of a part I wanted to machine using a 4th axis. Didn't seem to be able to create reasonable code on the NC side of things.
No big deal, I know my trig (yikes). So I write the prog. out by hand during some cycle time. Now that it is into the NC side of bobcad/cam I can't seem to sim the tool path.
I'd just cut some air or run it in graphics, but we've never figured a way to run an A-axis enabled program without actually hauling the big 4th down and hooking it up. In a production shop, that hasn't been feasible lately.
Basically I'm looking for a link or some basic info on 4th axis work in V18. I've searched back in these forums and googled myself silly. I'm not sure what info you'd need to help me, so I'm going to shut up and hope someone asks me to give them something to work with
