Hi John,
Do you think that the NEW Hobby Pro package would benefit hobbyists around the country?

Hi Chris

Sure! ....and the price is right. As a hobbyist, my demands aren't that extreme. I've never had v17, opting for v19(when at a low introductory price), but I would think this package would allow new users to get a good cad/cam software without emptying their pocketbooks. And....Hobbyists who have been involved for a while and thinking of getting cad/cam software could benefit from this.

If you're talking about a .dxf, .dxf's can contain many different types of entities and software that imports them can interpret them in different ways. Usually you need to figure out how the CAM program likes it's .dxf's and then you should be all right, provided your CAD program can provide the right type of .dxf. Is there a manual that comes with the demo?

It is time guy's to tone this thread down. If you want to have an input, you should use your experience to help others on the zone, not put them down. If you do not have the experience it is best not to post advice but rather ask your own questions to increase your knowlege. If you want to pass on downputting comments they should come in the form of a personal message "PM" to the member you are trying to reach. We want to keep this site clean to attract new members to the zone. The threads above are not the way to do that.

Smile everyone

Hobby PRO

The Hobby Pro package consists of the Version 17 CAD-CAM system and the training manual. We have reduced its cost so that anyone could afford to have a good CAD-CAM package to start off. Actually, you can do a lot of really amazing things with it. There is a trick to importing DXF files from AutoCAD. Explode the file first and save it as a release 12 DXF file. Then it should import just fine. Any questions, I would be glad to assist. As for the initial post I made which was followed up by Bloy2004, it was definately not planned. In fact, it was positive. That's all. I can be reached any time directly by calling 877-262-2231 ext 112.
