I have loaded BodCad 21 and the BobArt Pro X. And am trying to work through the examples in the booklet. Cannot find the sample examples with the directions they give in the booklet. Even went to the XP search utility and typed in "button.cad" and it couldn't find it. Can anyone give me a hint as to where they might be or send the samples to me. Thanks ![]() Hager

I have found the samples and have worked through allmost all the example, however I hit a snag when I selected "Mach3" instead of the "HAAS VF SERIES" post processor. I selected "Mach3" because that is what I am using, and wanted to cut this example. The problem is that when I select "TOOL" there isn't any option to select "TOOL CHANGE". This is where you define the tool number, diameter, speed ect. Any ideas???? Thanks Hager

I went back and selected the "HAAS VF SERIES" post processor rather than my "Mach3" post processor and was able to eventually work through the example and run the simulation by much trial and error. However the instructions in the booklet even using the "HAAS VF SERIES" post processor didn't always match what was on the screen. Since I'm TOTALLY new I may not know something that is taken for granted, but a training booklet should call out ALL the steps and assume nothing. Why wouldn't it run with the "Mach3" post processor? And why didn't I see the same sub options dropdowns in "Mach3" that I saw in the "HAAS VF SERIES" post processor???? Thanks Hager

Hager, In v21, on the Cam side, the post processor determines what selections are seen under the Contour, Cycle, Tool and Macro menu items. Your particular Mach post probably doesn't support a tool change, thus no option to select it. I'm sure there are other Mach posts available that are configured for tool changes.(I don't use Mach) Do you have the big yellow and black v21 manual? It covers some aspects of how to modify posts and scripts. It made no sense to me the first time I read it, but after realizing how much time I was wasting editting G-code, I buckled down and really started looking at my posts and scripts. I was able to tweak and add to them enough so now I can program 3 different controls with their respective posts, and not touch the G-code at all. On the Cam side, look under Setup. There you will see 8 items, the top 4 pertain to what will be available under your menu selections of the same name. The bottom 4 set up what goes on behind the scenes. Be careful changing things in the top 4, as some items are syntax sensitive. This is covered in the manual. I learned a lot just from downloading and poking around other post processors and changing things. If you start to change your own post, keep a backup saved somewhere. moldmker
