Unless they changed their policy, yes you can transfer. last I heard, it was $75. Call them first, and find out what you need to do.

If it's a dongle, why couldn't it be transferred? It's just a dongle...

Why would they charge $75.00 for a license transfer? Just another way to make money? If the software was paid for in the first place, what's the problem?

You may be right. I was referring to the older versions. I would call them and find out. You may need to be registered in order to get any kind of help.

Oh yes, they may need to get some money from you. Gotta keep the cash flow coming somehow!

License transfer fees are around $40 last I knew, which is reasonable because Your Name, Company Name, Version Level, and Address is on the Dongle. These need to be changed when the registered user changes in case of any mishaps in the future. Like someone steeling the Dongle. Then again, most customers can't give their software away at this point. But still the fee is there for a reason.

Smile Transfered BobCad V21 $75

Thank you all, I transfered BobCad V21 this weekend and it cost $75 plus I opted for 3 months of tech service for $25. V21 does not use a Dongle.

V21?? That would have been useful information from the get go, LOL.

Glad everything worked out for you.

Smile What is a fair price to pay for BC V22?

Now that we know the transfer fee is between 40 and 75 bucks... what is a fair price to pay for V18, V19, V21 (there is a 21??) and V22? I'd like to hear what people think. Myself, I would think 50% of what the person selling it, paid for it, would be fair.
I would think this applies any of the cadcam programs that are transferable, not just BC.

No big deal. It grows tougher and tougher to keep up with all that is happening in the manufacturing industry. It seems to change every 5 minutes now, LOL
