Smile v22 mold cavity help

So I am trying to cut a mold cavity, I have been able to make z level rough and z level finish work by selecting the entire model. I am now trying to get into the little spots with a smaller cutter. I would rather not try to finish the whole cavity with the little .094 cutter so I am trying to select only the surfaces that need cutting. When it generates the tool path, it wants to cut outside of the cavity as if it where cutting both sides of the specific surface. If this makes sense, any help would be much apprecieated.

Also, When I try to use any of the slice planar or equidistance functions to finish the bottom flat surfaces of the cavity, it seems to think it is a male rather than a cavity and it wants to cut the surface larger than what the cavity should be. I have tried changing all the settings but no luck.

It's usually best to select your WHOLE model as your geometry then isolate the cutting area with Boundaries and/or Stock.

Use Stock for Z-level and Boundaries for the other 3d features. (Careful, the Stock creation sometimes works goofy)

Boundary curves can be created by Extracting Edges from the model then project them to a temporary surface above Z. (Not necessary but it helps)
Put them on a separate layer so they can be easily hidden.

You usually have to manipulate the extracted edges in order to make a boundary that allows the desired toolpaths.

Good luck,
moldmker
