every time I start bobcad, I have to re-set my post processor to mach 3. Is there a way to change the default post processors for the mill and lathe?

Look for a program in the BC directory called MEdit. This allows you to edit the machine file and customize it to your liking. Getting rid of the MORI machines if you don't have them is nice. Create a new profile for your machine using the mach3 post and put it at the top of the list. Then it will always be the default.
