| any one have a post that works for v22 to mach 3 ive tried all of bob cads they suck!!!!! like rapid moves at zero height or outputting a machine stop at every z height change or repeating the same moves two or three times man what a mess .also on the new patch you will find that when you specifiy a offset left or right on a profile the buttons are reversed if you want to cut left of the line you have to select right to get it to do a left of the contour a little tip before you start pulling your hair out . i reported it they did a bug report . thanks all and good luck |

| woffler, You can customize the post on your side if you would like. It is rather simple, but because the posting uses many variables it may be more difficult for some. I would suggest contacting support to get the post modified, it is easiest. Just let them know that you have a post that will work, but you need it modified for your application. They will help. As for the buttons being mislabeled in the Profile dialog, I didn't see this. Are you using Contours when creating the machining operations? Contours enable you to control the direction of the cut more effectively. Without them the paths may or may not be what you were after. Regards |

the contour problem is not in direction it is in offset left or right in the cam tree manager when you set up your offset using the left or right buttons they are reversed.and i will get bob cad to redue a post thanks for the get back |

| woffler, Which build of Version 22 are you using? I am not implying that the Contours are a problem, I am wondering if you are using Contours. The problem that you indicate was not present in the most recent release of the software, so I am trying to determine where and why this is happening for you. Can you supply a file with the stated issue? This would help in determining the cause and solution for you. Regards |

i can provide a file but a nc file is not going to show you anything it is just going to list the current offset either left or right .it shows up when in cam when if you select say a left offset an then compute the tool path you will see that the tool path runs to the inside and not the outside .The version i am running is the latest downloaded again yesterday this is the entire version not just the patch version #22.051 build[1077] we thought it might have not download correctly but the problem remains tech support encountered the same problem when they tried i just use the opposite key and all is well .Ican not figure out why yours works and mine dosent unless you have the original with just the patch upate downloaded. very curious thanks for the help |

| woffler, What he means is your part file, not the NC file. Upload it and we will take a look at it. Offset left or right is determined by the direction of the tool path. If you are not using contours as geometry for the profile feature, then you are not controlling the direction of the tool path. Steve |

| it was the direction of the chain that was the cause now why couldn't bob cad figure that out.Now i feel like a boob ! now i am probably going to ask another stupid thing when you out put a g code program and at the tool change bob outputs a g53 z0. witch is go to machine zero i don't have a quick change tool system i do it manually i have used another cad cam software package for about a year any way as you can see i am new to v22 .the question is after getting to zero you put in your new tool do you bring the z down to part height and the zero your dro and run from there or do you have to measure the tool manually and input it in to the tool table when creating the part file. |

| BobCad did figure it out. The One works for BobCad. Chained entities are called contours in v22 ![]() Anyway, on your tool change issue, either way will work. If you don't run a tool changer, then there might be a "Mach3 - NOATC.millpost" file that is set up to be more friendly for machines without a tool changer. We run a machine at work that has no tool changer and we just touch off the new tool to 0 and reset the Z to 0. But that only works if you have a piece of the part that still is at 0! The more correct way would be to enter the tool height in the tool table and use the tool offsets. Steve |

| i found a post that looks agreeable to what i am doing and i believe i can touch off the zero or input the tool lengths i just wasn't sure if you could do it that way or not.And thanks to the one he seems to be more knowledgeable than the guy i spoke with he seemed as lost as me lol.I will run a few more tests tomorrow and see how it goes .Thanks to all and have a good evening |
