From your gcode you can recreate the tooltpath back in the cam side (with geometry from nc in the edit menu.) Is there a way to recreate the cad drawing from the toolpath? (from 3d toolpath to surface)If planar is use, selecting each line of the toolpath as a cross section in the create surface it could be done. Probably loose some definition , can anybody think of another way? |

| No, there is no way that you can re-create the "original" cad part from the backplotted G-code, unless you know what the original part looked like, but at that point you might just as well be able to re-draaw the part. Predator Virtual CNC, purchased through Predator, allows you to verify an NC program and export an STL model of the resulting part. So if the code is good you can get a good model, but if the code has errors, so will the part. Some others may offer this capability, but I am not aware of those programs at this time. Regards, |

Contact Scott Martinez the creator of NC Plot to see if this can be performed. Older versions of BCC can Back Plot Geometry from G-Code to create Solid models but the new version is different. Just to give you an example it is not uncommon to use 2 to 3 different software packages to complete a job.
