| MACHINING ALUMINUM 6061 USING A FADAL 4020 AND BOBCAD V20. I NEED TO GET A NICE SURFACING FINISH, WHAT SPEED, FEED, STEP OVER, TOLERANCES, Z DEEPTH, ETC NEED TO USE . I ALREADY TRIED ON 2 PARTS AND STILL GETTING A BAD FINAL FINISH. ANY RECOMENDATION WILL BE APPRECIATED. |

| Ok, I'll give it a try. What type of geometry are you finishing? (a surface, 3d geomotry, etc..) How smooth do you need it to be. I have found that when the mill is trimmed correctly, and I have a GOOD endmill, I can almost get a mirror finish if I take .015 on the finish pass when facing the bottom of a pocket. I usually cut 7075, and I'm not a machinist (hobby cutter ), so this my be bad advice |

| if it is a flat surface ditch the ball end mill use a 2 or 3 flute 3 flute would be better tin coated and a new end mill crank your mill all the way up as far as spindle speed use a feed of 3.0 per and a good coolant and flood it good .and a depth of cut of .010 this should greatly inprove your finish.just my two cents. |
