Post needed for Prototrak M2 and V21

Looking for a post for a prototrak M2 control. Bobcad offers all kinds of posts for MX2 controls and above but I have not been able to find anything for the M2. I would maybe take a stab at modifying the MX2 post to work with the M2 control, but I am new to this and I am not even sure what makes the two controls different. If anyone has a post for the M2 they would be willing to share I would appreciate it.

I have needed BobCAD to custom make a few different posts for me. All you have to do is fill out the post request form from the support page on the site and fax that with the needed information (G codes, M codes, canned cycles) from your controls programming manual and they will get you all set up with a post for your machine.

All the ones that I have requested worked out well, they do a very good job.

Thanks for the quick reply! I would love to send the needed information to bobcad so they can make me a custom post, but my manual does not go into specific G and M codes or canned cycles. The manual I have is 80 pages long and appears to be complete. I will look again on Southwest Industries website and see if I am missing something. My manual says "The ProtoTRAK M2 software will accept an RS274 CAD/CAM generated program (as configured through a post processor similar to a Fanuc 6) and convert it to an M2 event type program". It says you can do it and explains how, but there is no list of G codes in the manual or any talk of canned cycles. I appreciate the help! Please keep it coming I am really excited to try and import my drawings rather than stand at the mill and program!

    TowerCNC,

The MX2 post processor should work for your machine. The changes that could possibly be required would be minimal.

BTW: BobCAD already has the manuals for the SW Industries machines. The only reason you would need to send something is if you needed the post formatted differently.

    Regards
