First of all – It appears to me that the guys at Bob have had a major positive shift in attitude and performance over the past couple of weeks. I have posted some negative comments in the past but am willing to give it a rest for a while to see what happens next. The architecture of this software must be very complex and bugs will be created in the process of generating new loads. The real test of a company is how these bugs are dealt with once they become known. Microsoft has created a cottage industry of 3rd party vendors who sell products that counter the many security holes in XP and Vista. They have created an atmosphere where end-users blame the hacker after an attack. – Not Microsoft who created the security hole to begin with. Great psychology if you can make it work. When parts come out malformed a troubleshooting process must begin. The entire chain of Designer – Operator – CAD – CAM – Controller – Machine must be examined to isolate the problem. This process can sometimes take days and cost a company many thousands of dollars ( Euros etc.). When the problem is isolated to a software bug that is known to the vendor frustration and anger begin to take over the situation. If the bug was known to the designer who creates the parts; a work-around could have been installed at the beginning of the process. When a situation escalates to this level a jump to an alternative vendor becomes very attractive and customers are lost. At this time – Bobcad only provides bug information in the release notes that accompany new revisions of the software regarding what has been fixed. It would be a great help to all of us if they would come clean and post a full list of all major known bugs here on the Zone. I'm sure there is an electronic copy laying around somewhere. How about it Guys? Listen 100 times - Ponder 1000 Times - Speak Once |

| Nicely stated, Clockwork. Certainly there are bugs in every piece of software out there, and in this industry it would really be helpful to know what they are to devise a work-around. How about it "CNCdude"/"The One"? Do you folks have such a thing? Thanks kindly... Last edited by DonW; 07-03-2008 at 08:21 AM. Reason: content |

| As a preventative measure, let me say that any off topic posts in this thread will be deleted. And that includes any mention of competing software.

Hello all, I did say that we were very close to releasing a significant patch for the V22 system and indeed, we are. At this time we are resolving an issue with the patch and the installation of the Lathe post editor at 1:15 pm EST. When this is resolved, we feel confident that we will be able to release the patch successfully. The goal was to release the patch this week. With tomorrow being a major holiday we may have to wait until next week and I am sure that everyone understands this. When we release the patch there will be a posting of all resolutions, enhancements as well as any KNOWN issues that are still being worked on. I have been following the threads and think that it is a good idea for you all to be FULLY INFORMED. I appreciate those statements and requests. Please be patient with us on the patch release. I will come back here and provide another update before the day ends. Thank you. CNC Dude |

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. That's all we're asking for here. Personally I would prefer to see a quality release a little later than a premature release that is ____________________ (fill in the blank) |
