*Easy* V21 point translation question. :)

Hello all,

It's pretty fair to say I'm a very low-ranking n0oB in the world of CAD/CAM, so please go easy on me.

Here's my question:

I've taken a point cloud with my Microscribe G2 and BobCad V21. The points are correct as far as X/Y is concerned, but the Z values are innacurate and not relevant to my project. I need all of the points Z values to be set to ZERO (making the part 2D).

I know I can translate individual points down to Z zero, but this will be quite time consuming. Can points be "flattened" down to Z zero in groups?

1. Make sure everything is unselected.

2. Select 3D > More > Move to Z...

3. Selection Type = Region, Z level = 0 (or as desired), Relative = Off

4. Window around your pointcloud.

Everything should now be at same Z-level.

Microscribes are great tools for reverse engineering!!

Can you do a similar thing in V22?

Nope.... At least not that I've found.

There's a Project Curves to Surface but that doesn't work with points.

Just another feature that was eliminated when "updating" to V22.
