What's bobcad's return policy?

I own bobcad 21, bought last year, not even opened yet. I got a sales call for a good price on bobcad 22 and bought that last week. Just arrived today. I should have done my research. Seems there's lots of problems with stability issues here. I think I'm just going to spring for something that has a better rep., even at a price. Just wondering if Bobcad would take a return on an unopened package?

Why not ask them?

Within 5 seconds I was able to dig this up on a google search...

I saw that too. But reading through the forum, my impression was that it has to not work somehow and you have to go through tech support before they give a refund. In my situation, I simply changed my mind based on what I read in this forum. It's almost all negative!

Return policy

There are thousands of people running Bobcad software sucessfully and they are very happy with the software. Most of them never need to or want to use these forums so you are not getting their input on the software. Many of the people complaining about the software are frustrated because of their inability to use it correctly. Give it a shot and bobcads tech support and the users on this and other forums will be a great help

Ya, if it ain't broke they won't take it back. I also had the same experience as you. I bought the whole thing including the video tudor stuff. Had to resort to EBay to rid myself of it. Good luck.

try it you will like it

Most of the problems that I had with BCC was my lack of ability. As I learned how to use it, I see that it does a great job. The learning curve is steep but if you stick with it you will figure it out.

Thanks for the response. What concerns me are the reports of frequent crashes. I'm pretty good with computer hardware/software. Most of the time when a software crashes, its due to bad coding, not bad hardware. If it was purely hardware, they should place a very strict hardware requirement list on their website. That said, since I already bought it, I'll try it out this weekend. If it crashes all the time, I'll have to resolve it with bobcad.

My issue with bobcad is that I purchased 1 year of support along with the software. I eventually moved on to more industrial software but bobcad would neither let me transfer the support along with the sale of the software OR give me a refund. So I have a year of support for a product I don't have anymore that I can't get ride of :/. I still get calls from their sales people trying to get me to buy their new software.

I think that when I got the cold call, I was under the impression that there was a 30 day trial period. Turned out that there's a 30 trial software. When the sales person calls you in the middle of the morning, that sounded a lot like a 30 day refund policy. I hope it all worked out. Wasn't a big purchase anyways. If I push things, American Express always gave me refunds if the merchants are unreasonable. Now the next time Bobcad call, which will be next month probably, I'll let them know about all the negative feedbacks on this forum.

i really enjoy Bobcad. yes some minor irritations did frustrate me at first but all were fixed easily with tech support. the only crashes i experienced were due to me not using the software correctly (user error). it took a couple of years to really be able to use the product as its intended. the price is hard to beat for what you get. i'd gladly get v21 from you. send me an IM. thanks
