Someone has recently purchased a fanuc robot s series with r-g2 controller to carry out profile cutting of steel. It is a six axis robot and he has been told that Bob Cad/CAM would be a suitable software for this purpose. Is it true??? I have no ideal about what the robot is. Could someone help my friend to find the answer for purchasing a suitable CAM?? Thanks in Advance!!! Tom |

Hi Tom, BobCAD-CAM software is not capable of creating 6 axis toolpath and g-code at this time. We will however do 2, 3, 4 and limited 5 axis toolpath. If the machine accepts a g-code program, odds are, we'll handle it. Download our free demo from www.bobcad.com and have a look. If you need any assistance just call us or email us. Sincerely, CNC Dude |

| No way, the only cam program on the market that can truly program 6 - 8 simultaneous axes is Mastercam + Robotmaster. Its simply incredible. You use mastercam's powerful 5 axis toolpath to drive the end of arm tooling, then the robotmaster add on to control the robot orientation right inside the toolpath. http://www.robotmaster.com/ Call up those guys if you need a programing solution. Its really your only choice. |
