Is it really that much? Hi all, I've been looking around for a good CAD/CAM software package and I do like BobCAD. I've heard from multiple people that the price that's shown on their website isn't the price you'll pay. You need to do some haggling. ![]() I'm curious to know what others have paid for either the V21 or V22 Pro package (not sure if I need the pro package). Thanks! -Ed

Well... It depends on a bunch of stuff. Whether you are upgrading from a previous version, or what features you want. CAD, 2D milling, 3D milling, 3D milling professional, lathe, BobArt, simulation levels, etc... BTW, new users of v22 will most definitely find their training CD worth the investment. I doubt anyone is going to be able to say "I got my copy with A,B and C for X dollars." implying that you will get the same deal. BobCad runs promotions and package deals of varying descriptions all of the time. In the end, you'll just have to call them and see what's right for you. Steve

i will tell you if you are good at haggling you can get it down to 20 or 25 percent of the msrp but i still dont think its worth it, it has caused more problems than its worth

I chose not to do business with these guys for a number of reasons. A big reason was the "one time only" "act now" pricing I was given by the salesman who called me.

good decision i hate the high pressure sales approach and if you read their fine print there is something in there that says whatever the sales people tell you doesn't matter unless you get it in writing so yo can buy something that doesn't meet your needs and the sales person may tell you that it will work and when it doesn't they want you to buy some other upgrade and who knows if that will work but i am sure the sales person will tell you it will

We had this happen from another software company last year. The sales piched one thing then they sold us something else. We could not tell from the paperwork that it was different from what we were told. Bottom line is to ALWAYS get it in writing in a very clear discription.

| forbid giving them your telephone number. Sales rep called at least 20 times. Worse than the Highway Patrol looking for donations. Cant speak of the software, all I was wanting to do was check it out but their high stress/pressure sales tactics pushed me away. Last edited by baltman; 02-18-2008 at 05:04 PM. | I went with Rhino 4.0 w/ RhinoCAM. No pressure sales and the software is the best for my needs. Like baltman I was called all the time by these guys. Each time they would have this "special one time deal" that if I didn't take it then I would miss out. It got to the point where I told the guy I sold the business and don't need their software. |

I'm wanting to say that the advertised price from a salesman was roughly 2500 or there abouts. We got ours from a Tool Show with 2 license's for 1200. From my experience, Tool Shows and Expos are the places to get these types of software. They usually discount them tremendously.

They do tend to call often. I simply made an offer for everything, including the training CD's and a year of tech support vitual preator z level roughing...... It took them three weeks to call me back. I got it for a song. After you get close on the price, make them give you more tech support, you are going to need it.
