I'm still learning a lot everyday, I'm confused about whether I have things set up correctly to post code. I have Bob-Cad v22 Lathe. I can take a dxf file and go to the cam tree and punch in all the differt functions like roughing finish ing cut off drill ect. select all the parameters and such set tool paths select tools for each function. Then I go up to the top by cam parts expand it in lathe and choose post code and nothing happens? The videos from bob cad show this whole procedure and when they do that it generates the g code. Any ideas about an important step that I'm missing. Do I have to have something that is written specifically for my lathe for this all to work. I have the syil C-6 CNC lathe. I was told by syil that the post processor that I need to download from Bob-Cad was the mach3 post on the BOB-Cad website. I downloaded it and it is my selected post processor. Does this sound right. I'm new to all this , but it seems to me that there are many post processors listed that seem to be machine specific. Or is it that many of the expensive machines come with post processors directly from the company the machine was purchased from. I can write simple programs in Mach 3 Wizards that work on my machine but have yet to generate code for the parts I really want to turn. somebody please take a minute and lend me some advice that will help me move forward to generating code for my drawings in BOB-Cad. I tried to get some help from support at Bob- cad but they pawned me off on Syil America and they don't seem to have an answer for me as of 2 days ago. Thanks, John |

JDsto I just installed lathe last week, so I'm just learning also. If I go to cam part, turning tools, post, it does nothing. If I use "post & save as", it works. Hope that helps martin |

This sounds like a new bug that needs to be reported. I'll get on that ASAP and hopefully there is a response on Monday. Of coarse I won't know until later in the evening, LOL.
