I would like to see some examples of work that have been done and examples of work that can't be done in Bobcad 2007. Just a starting place to see where the limits of 2007 have been found or exceeded. |

| Seeing all the pessimistic reviews on BCC V2007/V22 I would love to see a few of these examples that can't be done. Here is your chance to prove us wrong on the softwares capabilities. Also I just purchased another Dell Lap Top (XP SP2) that needs to be tested. Be sure to include a challenging 3D example though because I won't waste any time on easy stuff. It's time to get TWISTED!!!!!!!!!

| I will post one to start. This is a part to be machined in BCC V22 for January 2008. It will need fixtures because it will be done in a Makino VMC. Modeled in V22 thus far, no problems.

| Hey, BCC can do more than just these parts but parts like this one well. Have you seen enough yet? BCC can solid model, though it isn't the best, it still works. I have hundreds of parts already done with the new version. Some take more time than others but that means I get more money. Do you have any example parts to share acetinker??? Have another.

Why not try a different approach, like asking a question or posting and example part so maybe someone can try to help you. Threats are not going to help you in this situation, or any other for that matter. Have a nice evening. My program is finished and off to bed now to rest up for the big day tomorrow. Actually, that is today ![]() Cheers!!

Experience isn't something that can be taught. Most of these parts took a lot of time, patience, and impractical attack. Start simple and work your way up to more complex. Use a simple approach to keep perspective. Eventually you will be able to create solid models more complex than these. There are a million and one ways to complete a task and none should be viewed as the correct way. The way you choose is the one that gets the job done. #1 Never Give Up and keep on it until the job is done, even if it takes all night. LOL, I am pretty much die hard CAD/CAM and Machining. If the little woman wants to shop and I don't I sit in the truck with a Lap Top and power inverter sometimes 4 hours straight just exploring different ideas. When bored with nothing better to do time is spent in a friends shop making what ever tools are needed for the full time job which is where I spend 40 hours a week. On the side a CAD/CAM Service which gets busy in the Spring and Fall months. Machinist 24/7 365 days a year, even when on vacation. Do what you Love, Love what do

In the world we live in there are those that do for themselves and those that want others to do things for them. Personally, I do for myself, buy what is affordable and utilize purchases to 100% of their potential. Does it make me smarter than others?? No, but it does say that I can work INDEPENDENTLY on my own. That is just a fact. Today, people are interested in the quick fix, and do not want to take the time to learn anything. I take what ever time it takes without getting paid for it, because knowledge, and experience is power. Why is it so hard to understand that some people do with what they have instead of crying "I want more, but don't want to pay for it". If you want really good CAD/CAM, buy Mastercam, Catia, or Pro/E. BobCAD/CAM is a software that a shop that I worked at bought. They asked me to learn it. Even after quiting that job I have continued to purchase BCC because it is what I personally can afford. Maybe people should spend more time trying to learn about what they have purchased instead of complaining. Who knows, they might learn something and even make some money in the process. FYI: 99% of what I do with BCC their own Tech's can't. Why, because I have too everyday. This sounds insulting but it isn't meant too. When your employer wants something done, excuses won't work. You have to find a way no matter what, or they will find someone else to replace you. Oh, Again, No Tjones and I are Not Employed by BCC or on their payroll. We just do for ourselves with the tools at hand and try to help others in the process. Tim works for a Tool and Die Company. His BCC software is supplied by his place of employment. I work for an Petroleum Instrument Company. My software is bought with my own money. No One pays us to talk good about BobCAD, we like it for it's price, and functionality. BobCAD/CAM isn't for everyone and others should do their own research to find what is best suited for what they are machining. Mastercam is still the #1 CAM software on the market with the most seats world wide. Why, because the price is right for those that can afford it and the functionality is through the roof in the machining world. Can you afford it? Just my humble 2 cents. I think this covers it.

| Tobyaxis that was well said. I relooked at my last statement and I didnt intend to come off like I did. My apologies. It just seems that Bobcam is hated by many. It is good though to see a few having success with the product. You said you weren't on payroll. If I were bobcam I would probably put you on pay roll because you do sure help the company. |
