    V22 posting problem

So far I have been able to get the software to create the toolpath but everytime I try to get it to post the code nothing happens. I downloaded the post I need off the BobCAD website and it appears to be working in that I can see the toolpath around the part profile but when I click on CAM Part like the manual says I don't get the next drop down box that contains the options "Compute All Toolpath; Post; Post and Save etc. I have been right clicking on "Profile" and then "compute toolpath", but when I try to use "Post code" under that drop down I get nothing there. I must be missing something.

    Joe,

Make sure that the Feature does not have a read X on it. This means it is set to No Post.

Then Right Click on the Milling Tools option, this will produce the pop-up menu.
You should then be able to select the Post or Post and Save As option.

If this doesn't help call support, because a dialog that doesn't appear does not fall under SOD terms. It is an error that needs evaluation and resolution.

    Regards

    One,

Thanks for your reply. I will give a try tomorrow as I am away from my machine for the rest of the afternoon.

Joe, I am sorry I didnt get back to you on that question sooner on Sorrins site. I have a machine down and a ton of work pilling up, and have been trying to get things straightened out the last few days.

Ok, after talking with BobCAD (Noel was very helpful) they determined I had a bad installation. I reinstalled the software and now I can post code. Next, question, my Predator comes up grayed out. It says it's loading but it's lying. Nothing ever happens.

How are you launching Predator, through the Desk Top Icon, Module, or Verify from the CAM Tree?

There was a fix for the Verify in the CAM Tree I believe but can't be 100% sure.

    Tobyaxis,

I was launching from the CAM Tree. I didn't know there was another way to do it. Is the Desktop Icon the one under "Modules" that says "Virtual CNC"? If it is, it is grayed out on my machine.

    Tjones,

I have not updated from the BobCAD site. The thought never entered my mind. Does that mean they have some fix for this? If so, why wasn't there a note with the software or some kind of follow up phone call from BobCAD letting their customers know that there is a problem with the software and the steps to correct it? When you are new to something you automatically assume that you are doing something wrong. You don't assume that there is a problem with the software. My two cents.

    Joe,

The problem with your predator has to do with the self registration of files in the registry. Call support and let them know that is the issue. If they sound bewildered tell them to ask Chris about it. This error is very uncommon, 1 in maybe 100 have it happen to them. It is just that the files in the NC Verify folder are either missing or did not get registered during the installation.

    Regards

    One,

OK. Thanks. Again, the info from you guys has been invaluable and has saved me a lot of time and from becoming exasperated with the software and asking for my money back.
