    V2007 Rotate

Please help me to understand what I'm doing wrong.

I've drawn a five point star shaped item (2D so far). I want a line the crosses each axis at a right angle. I drew one line then tried to rotate it to the others. I'm trying to follow the prompts as closely as possible.

    Please explain the procedure.

    Thanks again.

I figured it out. I'll post my mistake here, in the hope that someone else may benefit from it in the future.

First, I picked the wrong axis to rotate around. I'm drawing in XY plane, so I should have rotated around the Z axis. (Duh!)

Second, I needed to make copies. In this case, I needed a total of five.

Third, after selecting the entity and right clicking "OK", we must then click "OK" in the main rotate box on the left side of the screen.

After fixing my mistakes, it only takes about three seconds to rotate something.

    The drawing is coming along...

BCC does not rotate geometry like other softwares. By choosing 5 copies you now created a double entity. You should have created 4 copies with a 72 degree rotation from the original geometry.

You may want to use the cleanup and optimize function in the main menu.

That's what I meant when I said a total of five lines. Maybe I should have said four copies.

Thanks for watching me closely. I need all of the help that I can get!

I wasn't watching LOL, just reading I see this a lot when importing models from clients. Doubles, Triples, and gosh Quadriples!!!!! If you look at Alibre's functions you will see that their is how you described, but BCC is different.

    Happy CAD/CAMming
