Just purchased 2007BCC!

This is my first cam package. I use MasterCam V8 at work, so I have some experience with CAM. I also have trained in Solid Works and use it ocassionally. I watched most of sorin's videos but they are all for older versions of BCC. I hear that 2007 is a whole new animal. What is available for little or no cost to get me going in this new software. Are there video tutorials available for the latest version? Any other suggestions on overcoming the learning curve? Surely there has to be alot of folks in my boat. I just was wondering what you guys are doing. Thanks in advance.

hello, again and once again congatulations on your new purchase. They are in the process of making videos for the 2007 version. We also offer on-line training, in-house training, cross country seminars, sorins cad cam trainer web site, and last but not least the great customers that are constantly on this web site that help each other out day in and day out.

The seminars haven't started and all of your other training is $100/ hour. I wouldn't be asking this question here if I had a couple of grand to spend on training. I don't have that kind of money. I appreciate your insight, but I am looking for other alternatives that are more viable to my economical state. You are right this forum will probably be very helpful, that is why I thought I would see what other normal folks had found in this area of need. I wasn't sure that the videos weren't out yet. I guess that is answers that question, when do you expect them to be available and at what cost? Until that day arrives does anyone else have some private training materials available? Thanks

not really sure on the price or the exact release date, but from what i know they should be released in the next 2 to 3 weeks and maybe even sooner. also remember you also have your context sensative help built in as well which is very helpful. honestly after speaking with you, you seemed very smart and i do not see you having any problems learning the software.

Learning curve on 2007 BobCAD-CAM

Actually, I find that those that have worked with CAD/CAM software in the past pick it up fairly quickly. One good way to get a better idea is to get an online demo. They are free and we can spend some time with you answering your questions and showing you the system.

The training video series for the 07 system is just about done as well.

Training

I'm not sure about costs on the training product at this point. Our first 2007 training seminar is in Las Vegas toward the end of August. You should check with the training coordinator for times and details. The number is 877-262-2231.

What do you mean, specifically? Are you having problems with the software? If so, have you tried contacting the support department?

Your statement is rather vague and does not provide enough information to venture a guess at the problem. If you could be more specific, we may be able to help. Otherwise, I suggest contacting the support department to determine the nature and cause of the issues you are having.

Regards

The issue he is probably having, is regarding his bad attitude towards the software. He is not alone, but his statement is probably not the best way to deal with his feelings. I have been experiencing some frustration with it, as I have read the manual and find it wholly inadequate to define the operation of the software. I guess no one really knows how satisfied they are with a product, or how satisfied they will be until it is used for a good length of time. I wish the "busy" technical dept would get my post together so I could try to make a part. They sure had better not start my "45 days of tech support" until the postprocessor is completed. Anyways, I guess I will give it a good chance, now that I have spent the money and all.
