Pilot Wings - Picture or Line Drawing

I'm getting ready to do some engraving work for a friend who was a gunner on a B-17 in WWII. He flew over 40 missions over Germany back during the "big war". I want to engravig some wings on a custom 1911 for him but I'm having little luck finding a dxf file or a drawing I can recreate. Can anyone help???\

Buy me a Beer?

I have a whole Corel Clip Art library that has all kinds of Forces Insignia section, There are wings, but not squadron specific etc.
I could dig them out and see how many there are, they are in Corel format .CDR, can you use these or have a way of converting?

As a gunner (in the Army Air Corps) he probably wore Aircrew Badges - or Aerial Observer badges -- not pilot wings, per se.
Both share the same wing fletching as pilot wings - but the center shield--radiator (on pilot wings) is replaced with a circle surrounding horizontal bars on the Aerial Observer wings. Aircrew wings had (and still have) a circular device with the Great Seal (Eagle, olive branches and arrows) in the center of the circle. Being WWII the eagle may have been facing the arrows as the War Department - not the olive branches (DOD).
A google will get you to some sites with jpgs - but you'll need to do some converting to get to what yo need!

Hope that at least steers you in th eright direction.

Jim

I may be corrected - as the following site:
http://www.derdienst.com/us.htm

shows USAAF Gunner as having the same wings as a Bombardier. You might be able to start with their image and work from there. Hope you're not trying to get it done in time for Father's Day!
Jim

ADDED Note - on the otherhand - that web site shows TODAYS Astronaut Wings as the WWII the USAAF Navigator wings. In fact, the Gunner wings are probably actually the ones identified as USAAF Bombardier -- a lot of trivia I suppose - but you'd want the product to be right.
1971-1996 USAF fighter pilot -- so ya gotta get the wings right! Sorry I can't get you any closer. cheers - j

Thanks Guys;
Al, I'll most likely use one of your images and simplify it a bit. Not a lot of room on the slide to work with, so a simple outline may be my best shot.
Burt was the gunner on old "nine o nine" which btw, is still flying today. History, really facinates me!
Thanks again guys. When I get this thing finished, I'll post a pix!
Bill
