    Ver. 22: 2 questions

First: is there a way to control cutting direction? If I want to climb mill everything, how do I do it?

second: I am used to programming from tool center, not using cutter comp(in ver. 20). I notice with ver. 22, profiles are being posted with cutter comp included. I realize the benifits, but what if I dont want it? How do I post code without it?

You may want to call BCC Tech Support. I believe that there is a fix coming soon but not sure if it addresses these issues.

LOL sounds like the rest of us. Have you been able to Edit a Post Processor?

BTW: The members of CAD/CAM Trainer are gathering and sharing information on V2007 so feel free to join in.

You can get your password by using the, "Forgot Your Password Link". You will receive an email that has a Reset Password. Log In with that go to the User CP and Change your Password to something else and remember it LOL.

The Fix included a function in 2D Pocketing that allows you to create a Starting Point for plunging with the End Mill. It also included a Chamfering Function for the Pocket.

This is all I have found so far.

    It's coming along Nicely

Thanks, I hadnt found that, a start point for plunging is awesome. I dont know how many times I have drawn custom toolpath in autocad so I could machine like I want, just for that reason.

You can really get wild if you drill a hole at the point where the tool is going to plunge. Then Edit the End Mill Plunge to 50.0 Inches per minute. Reduce the Cycle Time a little.

To turn off cutter comp: There are several features in the system that allow you to turn on/off the compensation. For a Pocket however, you would have to turn it off in the post processor. It might be a wise idea to make two post processors, one with Comp and one without. This way you would be able to go about programming without concern in this matter.

As for fixes; there are several in the latest update. One was the addition of a Start Point for Pockets. This was not a bug just an enhancement requested by a Beta Tester. There were also some issue in the initial release with posting G01's for Engraving features, this has been fixed. There have also been some updates in areas that are not very conspicuous.

    Regards
