Default How to use merge command

I have a complex 3D carved model, well, complex for me anyway. Customer made a small change to planar surface.
What is the best procedure to swap the new model in.
Do I open my file, that is already coded, delete the model and use merge with new model. Then reselect all geometry and compute all?

Copy and paste is creating duplicates of objects...

Boolean operations are basically several lower level commands bundled into a single command, as they were often used.

Such as, calculating intersection values, trimming and discarding the desired unwanted pieces and stiching the pieces back to a solid again. Booleans are usually meant for solid ooerations.

A boolean "merge" commamd should give you a result of ALL the boolean calculations. Boolean add, subtract and isect (intersection), but left as all seperate solid pieces, with no discarding...
