    Printer Margins - Help!

    Hello,

I have some templates I need to print out and the size of the drawing is larger than the printer margins. I only need a 50% size of the templates to make my first prototypes which are within the margins for the printer. I have tried the potrait and landscape mode and that worked for a few drawings but now I'm stuck. Is there any setting that can be made in BobCAD that will reduce the orginal size of the drawing where my printer will print it out without croping off the ends?

    Thank You,
    Bill J.

    Bill,

This sounds like a BCC Tech Support Issue. Yoy can contact them through their Support Forum or by Telephone 9am to 5pm Eastern Standard Time.

I really don't do much printing with BCC, just Solids and Drawings without Dimensions.

im not sure if i understand, you just want to reduce the size of the drawing so that it will fit on regular paper? not worried about size at this point? when you try to print it pops up a menu and one selection is "fit all" this will automatically reduce to the point where it will fit on page, if youre landscape portrate setting is correct it will make best use of the page. If you need to reduce it yourself so that you know what scale it is, you can select the drawing, then change/translate/snap,increment set 0,0,0 copies 0, and scale set to whatever you need .75 for instance. At least this way you do know the scale it reduces to since you chose it.

    Thank You!

Thank You so much for the help. Your suggestion to scale down via the translate option worked perfectly. I'm new to BobCAD but I have been sucessful drawing the designs I needed. I called tech support the first time for this problem and they didn't understand or know how to fix my problem.
    Thank You,
    Bill J.

Hey Bill Im glad that worked out for you. I think what threw tech support is the fact that it seems you dont really care what the exact size it prints at.
Especially since you said something about template, that lead them to believe that the print needs to be to the exact scale you drew it in. Feel free to email me if you have any questions I may help with, I usually have the computer on line in the background here. Ill PM you my email.

Amazingly enough there are people out in the world that think it is easy to be a Machinist and CAD/CAM user. Personally with all this crap stored in my head I'm starting to get a Buffer Overflow everytime a question is asked. Wish there was a Processor Chip and a Hard Drive that you could plug into your brain, LOL. That would be nice!!!

    Cheers!!!!!!
