    Cutting backplot

I am considering Bobcadcam and need to know if I can backplot a file (very large 3-d surface backplots, usually ~50meg) and then cut it with incremental z depths. For example, if the backplot file goes from zero to z=-1", I don't want to plow out a 1" deep path.........

See my signature for example of the surface I want to cut.

    Thanks a lot

Yes BCC will Back Plot G-Code files. If it is saved as an NC or CNC File Extention BCC will follow the Tool Path with the Cursor or Tool Simulation. If it is a Text file BCC will Back Plot it but won't follow with the Cursor or Tool.

    How confusing did that sound????

The Best Back Plotter on the Market is NC Plot www.ncplot.com I use this in place of BCC's Simulator because I do a lot of Sub-Programming and funky shapes.

Thanks Tobyaxis.......but will it let me adjust my z cut depth? I don't want to follow the backplot at the full depth in one pass. I want to sneak down to it by defining a max cut depth.

I took this Screen Shot of a file Posted from Mike Mattera's DVD Tutorials for Mastercam V9. NC Plot does it all and you can follow the G-Code too. It supports Macro B Type Programming for Custom Macros, Sub-Programming, Canned Cycles for Lathes and Mills 3 Axis and 4 Axis. NC Plot has been said to be better than Cimco Edit (the Mastercam Plug-In).

NC Plot does it ALL!!!!! For $300.00 it is still a Great Deal. Even if you want it to varify New and Old Programms, It RULES!!!!!!!
