    Default fillet

Someone help figure this out ?
    Doing a radius (fillet)
Yes,,those are real specs,,,,tight ,tight tolerance
I can do it if I manually place it,,but I would like to know how to do it

    Hi James

Looked at the file and I am assuming that you know the point on the large circle where the fillet has to meet the circle, either by coordinate or angle from the cemtre.

If so then using the "Point on Entity" you can put a point on your circle, then all you need to do is the "Arc Fillet" from the end of your top line to the point you have just placed on the circle, very quick and easy.

    That do it ? ? ?

    Regards
    Rob

"Looked at the file and I am assuming that you know the point on the large circle where the fillet has to meet the circle"

    That's just it,the print don't say.
I can get close enough and stay in tolerance with the math skills I have, but I was looking, just to learn something new

Think of the example I gave, now think of a 2" diameter EM profiling the shape.Where the point the EM has to move to not violate the rectangular box I drew and the point where the other part of the EM is just leaving the big arc..The point where the EM is just leaving the big arc is what I need to do a correct fillet.

The only way I know, which is not %100 correct,,,is to find the chord length oh the 2" circle with a .0055 rise and divide by 2.

That point wont be determined out there in space, as your math left you kindof guessing and coming up a bit short.

You would build the 1 inch circle in the center top point, then your outer ring will give you the tangent break point (The opposite sides)

Then you can dim angle the 2 areas opposite and rotate the arc into position.

Here's a file with 1 done and the second left to do the rotation on, to illustrate what I did.

Lol. The angle dims were put there just to show you what i did. Not to mean you should put those in "your work".

    Oh,I understand what you did,,thanx
I meant a 1 inch radius going up only .0055
They call it a "mute" There are 12 of them on the outside of a ring and 12 inside
The ring is only .160 wall thicness
    Going to fun

Yup, that's what I put in there. With a tangent connection to the 6 inch arc. 1 is placed, the other is waiting to be rotated into place....

I can make a video if the file didn't explain it well....
