Something doesn't sound right about that. Maybe the DXF File is Corrupted. DXF is the best Wire Frame Translater.

If you post a File I can take a look for you.

Maybe the dx file is comprised of Splines...This would be the most common of occurrances.

You will need to open them in AutoCAD or something similar and explode the Splines into simple entities...

when you say "open with bobcad", are you actually clicking file, open, browsing and selecting the file? Ive found that double clicking a file that as been assigned to bobcad (has taken on the bobcad logo) will usually open bobcad but not actually open the file itself on screen. I know its a dumb comment but if you are used to that working in other programs it may catch you.

That is True Erase42. I forgot about that one. LOL got use to Browsing the file from the drive drop down menu.

This might actually be the problem. Good eye!!!!!!

here is my dxf

here is one of the dxf pictures. I loaded a dxf reader and it opens the file so I know the file is not corrupt. I have access to autocad but I have bobcad at home. just wondering if it is something I am doing wrong

thanx for all the input

hope you can open the file

Ok, got the same results you did. Have you tried these Forums yet?

http://216.117.147.20/bobcadsupport/forums/index.php
http://cadcamtrainer.com/forums/index.php

If these guys can't help you call BCC Support on the phone. They may have an answer for you.

BTW: for now convert the file to a DWG AutoCAD File and Try that one too.

Cheers!!!!!!

The problem is your file is a Hatch entity. It needs to be exported as Lines and Arcs.

You will need to open the original file and export the boundary that was used to create the Hatch entity.
