There are several standalone CAM's out there. MeshCAM comes to mind. But, not being a solidworks user, I can't be of more help and recomend any specific program or method to do what you want.

BCC is also much less expensive then SW. I would bet that if the file was small enough to email then someone here who new more about file conversions that I would change it from slprt to something BCC can read for you. I'm not sure I would use the word stuck though, BCC is a very good program from what I hear. I'm just lucky enough to have the other stuff at work.

Some of the cams are free, others have free trials. You might want to check out here witha guy called 10bulls. He just wrote a free cad/cam system. I don't know if it will read SW, but it may be worth a try.

thanx much,

REG
Reg,

BCC V21 will open a SW File (*.sldprt)

Wether it is a Solid Model or Wire Frame BCC will create Tools Paths. It just takes a little time to get used too.

Here are two other Forums full of BCC Users

hehe...

Just have the Solidworks user export the SLDPRT of what you need to machine. The whole assembly, if it is one, is not needed and will only cause problems.

Next check the Videos, Manual and forums that mr. Axis has suggested.

Finally CALL SUPPORT...they will be able to provide more efficient assistance than any forum, of course only during regular business hours.

Regards
