Try this iges file.
save the file to your computer somewhere, then open bob/cad go the menu on the top "file" then "open" and find the file you just saved...
Robert
thank you, thank you, thank you,
could you possibly explain what the trouble was?
Nate.

not sure really, I think it just one of those programming issues. I have always had to do it that way (save it 1st, then open with BCC).
Robert
well, im a bit confused. i tried to open the file in BCC and then save it and open it again in BCC, but it still just showes these 2 little bits of the file. Thant is the initial problem I had opening the file that prompted my poston this forum.
here is some background- friend created the image in adobe ilustrator and saved as a .dxf
I tried to open it in BCC but it only shows these tiny bits of the file.
also, my friend says it was created with straight lines and radii. when I opened the IGES file you made it shows up as hundreds of small segments that make up the radii and the lines. My friend insists that it was not created to be that way. is BCC doing this when it opens the file? or is illustrator doing this without him knowing it?
also, in order for me to simulate a toolpath run in BCC I have to have all the segments with the direction arrow things pointing in one direction. is their a way to select all the many hundreds of sections in the file at once and make the arrows all orient in one direction?
I am very new to this software and really appriciate all the assistance!

I have a similar problem.
When I go to the file and click Open with BobCad, BobCad opens but does not open the file.
But with BobCad open, I then go to File, Open (locate the file) and the file opens within BobCad OK.
Any one else have this problem or is it some setting I have wrong?
When you open the file in Bobcad does it look correct? if so when you save it "save as" ????(file name) .cad, then anytime you click on the file it will start bobcad and then open the file...hope this help
Robert
I can open in AutoCAD ''JEDI KNIGHTS''
If you hold the shift key while you select an object you will select the whole chain of lines and arcs.
RLC.....Not sure if your reply was directed to me but I'll answer anyway.
The file opened in BobCAD OK when I open BobCAD first and then the DXF file.
On further checking, when opening from the file on my PC, the format needs to be DGN for BobCAD and the file to open.
nate
When I open your file the arcs are made up from many segments also, not sure why.
To get all the arrows in same direction go:
All
Change/Reorganize/Cleanup and Optimize
F9 to reverse direction.
