Angry tool path generation BobCAD V18/19

I have noticed that when I go to pocket, or create a tool path, BobCAD will usually start my path in the middle of my part. Which means when I cut, the first path uses the full diameter of the tool.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Why does it do this, is there any way to make it start at the outer edge and path inward?

    Thanks,
    Kenny

No matter where you start in a pocket the 1st path is going to be a full diameter cut, just the nature of the beast. The thing about staring in the middle is that you get the shortest possible path of full diameter cutting. You could try ramping in z to help with this somewhat. If you are frame milling then just draw enough toolpaths outside so that you lead into it gradually.

Thumbs up i see said the blind man

Yeah, I had not thought of it that way. I was referring to frame milling specifically, when I wrote the post.

You have given me a firm grasp on the obvious.

    Thanks,

I will add a question to this one...

When using the Auto Generate, while setting a roughing depth of say .125, can you choose points to move to when seleting the toolpath before hitting Auto? To automatically put in the respective path when the generation occurs?

    Is that clear as mud?

    thanks,
    Kenny
