Surfaces (if they match close enough) can be stitched together into a single solid. Bobcad is very good at this type of CAD. Once the surfaces are stitched they behave as a single entity. For that you can alter the solid just as if it were never sepperated into faces. Like a said, Bobcad is very good at this.

| Send this to BCC Support and they will look into it for you. Not sure why it looks like that but there are a few things to consider. 1) Your PC's Processor and Speed 2) Your Graphics Card Settings or available RAM 3) Your Monitor Resolution

Its a 2 gig AMD with a meg of ram with a pretty decent video card. it usually renders fine but sometimes a small segment will be inside out sort of. with the glossy side in and the dull side out, that was the effect this was having with this part. the odd colors bits are actually just a different level of reflectiveness. im going to post the file here, see how it renders on your machine and post picture if you will. thanks

You have more than one surface for each feature represented. They are nearly identical but they have slight differences. Look at figure 1a. Do you see the interior lines that curve? Look at figure 1b. Those surfaces were removed and we are left with rectanglular segmenting on the surface. I did nothing other than remove the extra surfaces. Now look at figure 2a. This is the render when only one set of surfaces is selected. Regards

hey thanks for messing with it, i actually figured that out a little later and had better success. i really have little use for actual 3d rendering in my line of work, but it is fun to play with for personal projects. if you have experience with bobcad, do you know why sometimes i can't snap to an existing point, even when i have points set as snap points. usually ill be trying to snap the center of a square to a point that was created as an arc center, it will try to snap to grid points or whatever is near, but not to the actual point no matter how i try. i guess i could start a thread, but its not that big a deal just wondering if youve seen that.
