| You can feed in at an angle too. The process is a bit time consuming in deep pockets. Your better off using the spiral function in the Other Menu like Mike says. The other method I was thinking of is way too time cunsuming

Drop the geometry to the final depth in Z(if it is a 2D toolpath) Next create a line at an angle(coming up from the start point of the pocket) Make sure that the path chained properly by using the Chain Selection method. After selecting the Chain in the method described above, the chain is probably going the wrong direction so press F9 to reverse the selection. Next turn 3D on in the NC-CAM window. Do all your regular setup stuff and click Machine Auto. This will ramp the tool into the cutterpath. Play with it a little, it can be done easily but may require some practice. Regards |

| I actually tested this and you have to be careful of the angle because it changes from steep being the last cut to shallow being the first cut. The initial Z changes in the first cut as well. I'll do it again and post a cad file for you. Here is the file
