    G2 OR G3 IN ENGRAVING VERS 23

Everytime I create an engraving and post it. It comes out all as G01 moves. All the arcs are turned into straight line moves to create the arc. Is there a setting to allow radial contouring . I have used several different machine posts, but with the same results.

    Thanks

First, most fonts do not use "round" curves. If you look close you will see that. Ovals are not regular curves, they are made of short sections of straight lines. Second, do not vectorize unless you need to. You do not have to to engrave in V-23.

I know it makes for a lot of code, but it does not hurt anything to have only straight line segments.

Go to Arcs > Fit Arcs and window select your vectorized or exploded text and OK.

This filters all those line segments back into arcs within the noted tolerance.

A good practice for working with font geometry is to use Other > Contour and window select all the text and convert to contours.
Breaks in the geometry should show as multiple contours on one letter.
