Have no one here the same problem with automated generated tools? How can I swich them off?
Hi, I'am a german user of V24 and I would ask how can I switch off the automatic generated tools when I mill a new job. Each time BobCad generate a new tool in the tool list with a new toolnumber... that could be very dangerous if I don't delete the automatic generated tool..

I can't get them off also.
There is something I'm doing wrong.

There is no way to have it default off. It will always default to system tool, which you can then toggle off the manual tool.
this is a very dangerous behavior! When every time, while generating a new milling feature, a default tool with default number is generated, you have to delete every time this default tool! Otherwise you generate a horrible machine crash if you have a full tool changer....It would make sense to swich off the automated tool generation and (!) tool numbering in the software preferences.
I'am a German BobCad user since several years (V19,V21,V22,V23,V24) and tried to get an answer (and a solution!) for this problem. I never ever needed any support in that years and the only answer I got now from BobCad: Buy a support level!
And then? Maybe I receive the answer: We can't change the situation...
I'am a little bit confused

nursum
We just got support and had a list of things and this was number 1.
The answer was it's a bug and can't be turned off. This is BobCad's
answer.
Also the in the chamfer tool/Parameter/Tool postion. The edge of part dim goes to center of tool not to edge of tool.
On this forum is there a bug list?

I expected that answer from BobCad! Maybe we should open a bug list thread.....
I also had the problems with the chamfer path, but I thought it is a problem with the metric units because there are many bugs since several years refering to the metric/inch calculations in BobCad.

Thanks for the tip "thought it is a problem with the metric units"
I look out for that.
I love to play with new software I was a network admin and
play with Linux and Windows at home. And I "I'am a little bit confused" also with this software. I made my own post processor got everything setup.
Then there's bugs, tricks and just poor programing everywere.

The chamfer issue has been submitted as the graphics show incorrectly. The item addressing System Tools, however, is not a bug. This is designed correctly in the software. There is a way to correct the issue with them writing into the file by attributing the Milling Technologies/Tools folder to be marked as read-only. Please remember if you do this, you will be unable to write tools to the file.

Sorry if this is not a bug then it's just stupid. The automatic tool?
Why would anyone want it? I could be wrong, but then what good could come from this? I will try your solution.
The is a bug list on the forum. Is there a "correctly in the software" list?

We dont use manual tools. Strictly system tools.Sorry if this is not a bug then it's just stupid. The automatic tool?

"We dont use manual tools. Strictly system tools."
The I can see the use System tools. But not Automatic tools.
I want a database with the tools I use. I have that then system
tools just get added in automaticly.
