Any one have a known good post. for V24 Lathe for Mach 3 ? I have problems with words In G76 threading Boob Cad put's in a D word mach does not recognize.
I would start with the Mach3 Turn.LathePst. I had originally had issues in the mach posts that didnt like the G28's without some sort of extra setup in mach to make it work. We just changed a couple things..
If you want to attach a sample bbcd file with a feature added to the cam tree and the mach3 lathe post from your computer, we will look at it and help get it "massaged" to run your files.
Hi Burr Man here are the files you requested thank's for helping, the first thread is a BCC. file and the other is the post file. Had to zip them to get them to load.
Sent wrong file ,this is the correct bobcad file.
Sorry getting late
I'll need the generals help with this... I posted the file with 3 different posts and mach3 gives 3 different errors (I dont know much about setting up mach3 for lathe) Tool radius too big and tool length offset too big, and I dont know how to interpret this yet.. Maybe the general can look at the features setup first to verify things in it, then we can discuss the code going out..
I can post the xml. file for mach lathe if that will help just let me know.
I had the xml. file for Mach tested , by Hood a lathe user in Scotland a long time user here is his response .
Seems to be fine, loaded some code of my own and all is well. Just need to get your BobCAD post sorted and you will be on the way
The G76 BobCAD is putting out is all wrong, heres and example of the code in my G76
G76 X10.25 Z-10.5 I29.0 P1.75 H0.2 Q02 T0 C1.2
Mine is metric so numbers may look funny user .
Any success with this General? busy with celebrating? I'm kindof stuck on lathe stuff... Happy New year!
Sorry, I thought this one was sorted, "woffler" now has the correct "string" for a G76 threading canned cycle from "Hood" on the Mach Forum, I assumed as we hadn`t heard any more from "woffler" that he had gone ahead and modified his Post Processor to output the code as per the info from "Hood", I get the same string output on my Mach but I have never done it via any Cad-CAM as there is no need to with Mach, I have a "Wizard" that does all that for me, all I have to do is input the thread pitch, how deep, how long, angle etc, etc, etc.
I have another "Wizard" that does all the turning, facing, boring etc, etc, again it`s just putting numbers in boxes so it`s pretty much a "conversational" environment
Sorry, I had just assumed that as you are conversant with Mach (Mill) you would have known about the "Wizards" available for Mach for both Mill and Lathe, they save loads of time if it`s only a simple job being done.
In the time it takes to open up a Cad-CAM software draw the geometry, produce the code, get it to the machine etc, etc I can often have finished the part using a "Wizard"
BTW The "Hood" is to the Mach Forum as "Burrman" is to the Bob-CAD Forums (Helps with everything, very knowledgable)
If "woffler" is still having problems eg modifying his Post then I will do what I can to help of course.
