    machining times

Is there any way to find out or calculate machining time other than purchasing predator? with BobCad
I know in masterCam you can find out total machining time without doing a verify by clicking info box.

I don't know what version of bobcad you use. I do know in version 21 which is the most up to date I have you can get a run time estimate. After you create the g-code in the cam window you select the edit drop down menu on the cam side and choose select all. This should highlight all your g-code. You then go under the edit drop down and pick run time estimate. It will ask for machines rapid feed rate. After typing in your maximum rapid speed hit ok and it will calculate your run time. Good luck.

If you are using Mach 3 controller, it has a simulate run with a time estimation.

Another good idea to think about I am not using a Mach 3 but could look at it as an option just to check machining time on the PC

Most of our controllers at work don't give simulation times except 1 but thats on a lathe

You should be able to open the g-code file in v-21with no problem. You may need to change the file mask under the file menu setup option on v21 depending on what the extension is in version 24.

G-Wizard Editor will estimate machining times and is free during the Beta test.

If you run your part through the predator simulator, there will be a small box on the bottom right side that will display the time it will take to machine the part.

You cant open up the file with toolpath included. If you were to import it in bobcad v21 you have to save as a dxf which is just the simple geometry program and then reprogram in the toolpaths

I did get it to work in V21 by posting the file then opening up in preditor then copying the text and pasting into V21 CAM side.
Then I simply did as judleroy said
    Works a treat.
