Call bobcad.
Moved my V-21 to a new laptop today and even when my dongle is in place, it says I'm in demo mode. It is seeing the dongle, because I drew something and when I pulled the dongle out I lost the drawing.
Somebody know how to fix this?

Call bobcad.
Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
Yes, a current support subscription is required to call into support for assistance (other than installation issues), However forum support from BobCAD-CAM is free. BobCAD-CAM Support Forum.
To answer your question , If you lost a file because of removing the license there is nothing that can be done.
As for being in demo mode with the dongle plugged in .... You must set the software to run as administrator. Right click the BobCAD-CAM Icon then choose properties then Compatibility then check the run as administrator box.
I have posted in several forums. No answer to the problem.
Not worried about the file, it was just a test to see what would happen when the dongle was removed.
I do run my V-23 as admin on Vista. I have never had to run V-21 as administrator on XP or Vista before, but I tried that yesterday too and no difference either.

Call into support 727-489-0003 , Tell them your license dongle key is not working, They will make you a support ticket, and a tech will call you. You will only be turned over to sales if you have no support and the issue is not licensing and or installation issue.
Just tried to run it on my XP computer as admin (never had to before) and it refused to accept my password. Fun.

Not seen a dongle on V21 before, as far as I know only V2007, V22 and V23 had dongles.
The usual procedure as far as I know with V21 is to open V21 on the old computer and the click "Help" from the top menu, scroll down to "Registration" and select "DeAuthorize".
That should open a dialog box with two sets of codes, you have to call BobCAD registration Dept and give them the "De-Authorization" codes, this ensures that you are no longer able to run the V21 on the previous PC, they will talk you through the settings and will issue you new authorisation codes for your new installation.
Unless things have changed a lot then that is the only way that I know of you can move V21 from one PC to another
Bit of a pain but not the end of the world
Remember that`s the BobCAD Licensing/Registration Dept
