    Question BobCad V23

In BobCad V23, I can not get the toolpath to recognize user defined stock for turn. It treats the stock as if it wasn't defined and defaults to a round blank even though it is a casting. Can anyone help me get defined cast stock to be recognized when computing tool paths.

    stock

If it is a casting model you can save the MODEL as a .stl
    c,program files,predator software,common files,stock
and in your program take out the stock definition line and replace with
    (sstl file.stl)

    example.

    O1711
    (BEGIN PREDATOR NC HEADER)
    (MACH_FILE=3AXVMILL.MCH)
    ( MTOOL T1 S2 D.375 H5. A0. C.1875 DIAM_OFFSET 1 = .1875)
    ( MTOOL T2 S2 D.375 H5. A0. C.1875 DIAM_OFFSET 2 = .1875)
    ( MTOOL T3 S3 D.625 H5. A0. C.125 DIAM_OFFSET 3 = .3125)
    ( MTOOL T4 S4 D.5 H5. A120. C0. DIAM_OFFSET 4 = .25)
    ( MTOOL T5 S4 D.263 H5. A118. C0. DIAM_OFFSET 5 = .1315)
    ( MTOOL T6 S1 D.3125 H5. A0. C0. DIAM_OFFSET 6 = .1563)
    ( MTOOL T7 S1 D.125 H5. A0. C0. DIAM_OFFSET 7 = .0625)
    ( SSTL 1171.STL)
    (END PREDATOR NC HEADER)

Smile Thanks, but my casting is something I have drawn in

Thanks, this wont work for the way most of my files are. All my files are all .dxf files for my castings & finished parts. BobCad pulls the geometry in real well and lets me define it and it shows it as drawn as stock, but when I go to create tool paths it uses a blank with the size of the casting as the largest od and smallest id and length. It is very frustrating

The stock size is used only for roughing , use multiple finish passes for castings. This will follow the shape of the casting and offset.

You can then use the header in the code to simulate on the casting.
