    GOD bless you Sorin

    Sorin...thank you for your efforts and spending you own time to make these videos...just what I needed. They're very informative for us complete noobs. I dont know why BC hasn't included them in their introduction videos. They helped me decide to give BC a chance in spite of their sales tactics (calm down burrman Lol). I am looking forward to making the calices on my finger tips thicker...from keyboard strokes.
    Now to see if I can draw something Lol

    For those of you that helped me ty...and for the one that just wanted to sway me ty too

    Sorin...one question.
    In your video on setting defaults where you are talking about vectorizing (time stamp 18:33) you say one thousandths of an inch but you enter .001. Do you mean .0001 or .001?
    Richard

    1.000 = 1 inch
    0.1 = 1 tenth of inch
    0.01 = 1 hundredth of inch
    0.001 = 1 thousandth of inch

    Richard, If you are impressed with the videos, you really ought to take his class if and when he comes thru your town. I did and I was very impressed. In fact when I see BC bashing here, I recommend his class as I am doing for you. I see where some will say BobCad cant do this or that and in truth it probably does have its limits as any software. Watching Sorin manipulate a part via BobCad doesnt appear to have any weaknesses but he will actually use other programs too (not during class ). BobCad also offers free webinars (I believe they are free?) though I havent tried one. BTW Kiwi is correct on his measurements.

    OMG, burrman
    are you a moderator??? If not, plz don't tell/suggest me where to post.I made a thread in the right place (where I intended) but I did click on the wrong prefix. I meant to click on newbie but somehow clicked build thread...sorry guys. I included a question to Sorin because I figured he'd see the post and shoot me an answer by PM (I was tired and didn't want to take the extra steps to go to his forum and do it) again...sorry guys.

    I posted here where I wanted to, in order to give him the public recognition he deserves for his extra efforts and to let other newbies like my self and anyone that doesn't know about his videos a way to find out because they are extremely helpful.

    I know about sorins personal forum, you told me about it...remember . If I wasn't a member of his forum how could I have watched his videos...you have to be registered to watch them.

    I never said you or anyone else were irate or overreacting. I did say "They helped me decide to give BC a chance in spite of their sales tactics (calm down burrman Lol)" because of your previous replies to some of my posts. It was an attempt at humor...sorry you missed it.

    Lets let this end here and not muck(muddy) up the forums any more, ok? Feel free to reply to any of my posts but if you want to make things public or personal just shoot me a PM instead.

    community...sorry I had to explain all this in public...

    Moderators...plz feel free to delete this thread...ty

    When he is saying one thousandths of an inch he does mean .001

    This is in machining one thousands , .0001 is called one tenth or one ten thousandths of an inch its not the same and just decimal digits .

    5 thou would be .005"

    50 thou would be .05

    500 thou ( 1/2" ) would be .500

    I remember that part of the video. Not sure, but I think he says ten thousandths while typing in .001.
