    Burr,

I cannot look in help; I cannot open anything. I am assuming it is due to the error message.

If you just launch the installer again, there should be an option to "repair". This would be re-installing the app over itself..(Launch the installer with "run as admin") If you already had a license, it should still be there an untouched.... If you had many custom things setup, like tool databases full of self defined tools, you may want to just wait and get them (BC) on the phone so you dont loose your info...

How did the error come about after you already had it installed?

I dont have V24 but look in the help menu and see if there is something that speaks of "de-authorize" before you uninstall. Be sure you are connected to the internet. If the re-install doesnt make it start, post back in a new thread and we'll go further.
How can he look in the help menu when the program won't launch?

    Under Windows 7 :
    Log in as Admin....

    Start
    Control Panel
    Uninstall Program

    Right Click on BobCAD V24

You will get an option to Uninstall or change

    Select change
Then select continue if it asks you to change user
    and you get three options:

    Modify
    Repair
    Remove

    try repair first.

I performed the repair option. There is no change. The software opens but immediately comes up with the error message and nothing works.

How did the error come about after you already had it installed? Any particular event happen that day? Do you have the Run as admin set?

The next step is to uninstall and re-install it, but you may want BC for that part, to force a full install without screwing up the license..

That is very important and will cause your problem. Right click on the icon and select run as administrator. If you are running Vista or 7 you need to do this. BobCad was designed around XP.

I am running XP. I do not know when or how the error came about.

It bothers me that someone from Bobcad has not responded. Maybe they are ticked at me for my earlier rant. Do they even monitor the forum?

I have not been able to log on as administrator. Remember, I am computer challenged.

I just wish that there was a way to do a complete uninstall and reinstall without a phone call. The internet works good for me, the phone does not.

I found and ran the windows compatability program and by the grace of the computer gods my v24 now works. You guys do not know how happy I am. I loaded the program in Mach3 and ran it off line on the house computer and it seems great.

There is a series of holes, 2 sizes, 17 in all that I treated as pockets and cut them with a 3/8 end mill, sweet. My first real success with the cam tree.

Thanks to all the great guys on this forum that offered suggestions.

    Hi Ernie,
Thats great that it's tunning for you now.

These forums are basically "User forums" and not where BobCad provides support.. It has been mentioned that they often read them and jump in sometimes, but dont construe it as a place to get help from them.. Here you will be recieving help from other BobCad users.

Sometimes forum help can take a bit longer, because there are so many possibilities to any situation, that some back and forth is always needed. Just come in sooner than later, before it gets too frustrating.

Using the BobCad support is good in that you can get Better results faster. They have the ability to log onto your computer to get things sorted out (You dont want to be doing this with people in forums) But you pay for that.

    Burr
