    V23, can't verify within BobCAD...

    Anyone know of a fix?

BobCAD says I am out of tech support time, so they won't help. They sent this as what to do, but it didn't work:

If the simulation will not work there a couple of things that may cause this follow the instructions below to trouble shoot the problem.

    1. The simulation or project directory is improperly set

To resolve this click on Preferences then Settings Default choose Directories and make sure the path is set to …
    C:Program FilesPredator SoftwareCommon FilesJobs

    2. The virtual cnc is improperly installed or not installed at all

To resolve this, open windows explorer and navigate to…
    C:BobCAD-CAM DataBobCAD-CAM V24System Files
    Or
    C:Program Files (x86)BobCAD-CAMBobCAD-CAM V23System Files

Run the Predator Virtual CNC 2007 for BobCAD.msi file by double clicking it.

I did all that, no change. Then I uninstalled both Predator and V23, and reinstalled. Still doesn't work, but the symptoms are differernt.

Initially, BobCAD would show a little "busy" icon at the mouse cursor for a fraction of a second, and then would "freeze", and clicking on anything would result in a "ding". I had to kill the process in Task Manager to get it to go away and restart.

After reinstalling, the programs, I get a shorter "busy" icon, but then it goes back in to fully functional BobCAD mode. I never get the verify video on screen.

Predator works fine, but I want to see the material get machined away, which I don't see in Predator. That's why I am trying to Verify within BobCAD. It did used to work...

Any ideas on what I can try next?

Got on with someone in support. I had loaded just the 1812 update rather than the full install. In case others need the file later, you can get the full install here:

BobCAD-CAM | CAD-CAM Software for CNC Machines including: Mill, Lathe, Wire EDM, Laser, Plasma, Waterjet, Routers and much more.

Only AFTER you load the full program should you install the update to it...

Will post back if this fixes my problem.

OK, got it now. Apparently you have to nuke a bunch more than just an uninstall. Again, this from BobCAD:

Remove Bobcad V23 and Predator, from your add/remove programs in your control panel. Click on My Computer/ C drive/ Program Files/ BobCad Cam and delete the V23 folder. If you can not delete it, right click and rename it Used. You may delete after reinstalling V23. This is so Bobcad will install into a new folder.

Make sure your graphics driver is current and your windows has been updated and you have windows update .netframework3.5 installed.

    Remove registry keys:

If you are using XP click on the start button of your windows toolbar and select Run. Next in the run window type Regedit. Expand the menu under hkey current user. Scroll down to software/bobcad/ delete the V23 and then the Predator Software registry files. When you reinstall Bobcad it will create new files. Install the V23 link the link, it is self extracting and will reload Predator Virtual and CNC Editor.

I did all that and now I can verify... Geez! I know this is at least the second time this has happened. First time was shortly after I first installed about a year ago... That's one reason I am posting here - so I can find the fix later if/when I need it again!

Ah well, looks like that was only a temporary download site - it isn't valid any more. You can get a new link from BobCAD if you need it in the future, I guess...
