    Bob cad-cam licsence...

    Hi,

I just bought a Hurco mill and it came with a legit copy of Bobcad-cam ver 21. The guy I bought it from said that the laptop that it was loaded on died, so he is no longer using it. Can I call bobcad and get an unlock code for it? Will it cost me anything?

    Thanks

    God bless...
    Mark

Haggle with them and use a phone you will never answer. You will thank me later. I do like their software and have really liked the V24 demo I have been running ( I own V23). Though I do wonder why it let me generate useable code for only 7-10 days and now says, "you are in demo mode". Saleman at BC probably said , shut him down he wont answer his phone!LOL. Used car salesman are like *****cats to this team. They arent rude just persistent. Their phone service must be free because they will call you daily FOREVER. I can only imagine how much pressure they are under, been there done that. They will always have a lower price, haggle and then haggle some more.

    Hi Mark,

I think you might have a problem getting that license transfered. If bobcad doesn't get a deactivation code off of the computer they have no way to confirm it has been removed. I think the transfer fee is somewhere around the hundred dollar mark if you can convince them to release it.

If not I think I could part with a seat of V23 standard if you are interested. It would just be a case of giving them the deactivation codes and paying the transfer fee.

    Let me know,
    Doug

Thanks for the info guys :-) Just curious is v23 more user friendly than v21? v21 seems a little hard to learn so far, at least for me...

    Thanks

    God bless....

My advice for what it`s worth, if you are looking to move from V21 upwards then go straight to V24, there are still some issues in V23 and they will NOT be fixed, there is no more work being done on V23 so what you get is what you are stuck with forever on V23.

    Regards
    Rob

The user interface changed totally between V21 and V22(23/24). BobCAD changed to "true" 3D models with V22. If you are not yet "comfortable" with V21, I suggest you go to V23/24 soon. Many users that were very good at V21 had a hard time moving to V23. Not because it can't do the job, but because it is a very different interaction.
