yesterday BCC admitted that V23 cannot produce the proper turning code. they said they will try and correct it. i still cannot believe this has not come up sooner. i understand they are far more advanced on the mill side, but lathes are nothing new.

I think it's an issue where the tool theoretical value (auto calculated) is the exact same value as the radius', and the machine file is set to use the theoretical point to run toolpaths...

There also seems to be something missing, that would be intended to work here.. A selection of "tool type" is not in the dialogue.. So the system acts as if it only has a cutting edge on the "orientation value" of the toolpath... (perhaps you could look at defining your own tool to see if this makes it work??? I dont know how to test that)

So with these things couple, the toolpath seems to work if you change either the tool radius amount, or the actual geometry radius.. Here is code where I changed the geometry radius to .0049 (just off of the theoretical point number)... It will do the same if I change the tool's radius amount just off of the number also..

The post is the default fanuc0T.

I think my whole post was wrong.. I think I just had a parameter not filled in right when testing... Like the tool radius on the finish tool being set to zero, and me looking at the toolpath...

Im having the same issue with V23. The simplest most basic tool nose radius comp
the software cannot get it right. I do a lot of complicated turned aerospace fittings

I was hoping V23 would help, but im stuck doing things with autoCad and manually inputing code

    lol...

BCC themselves cannot make their turning software create good code!
go ahead and stick with that one....

Hey there diff over, regarding the "they say they are going to fix it" part. Please post here and let us know what they fixed? If its in the post or the V23 itself. Thanks....

The question begs, If they do figure it out, Will the solution be made available to V23?

I also believe the problem does not lie in the posting, its in the main body of the software someplace
I have wasted many hours fiddling with the posts to see if I can get some valid code for
