    Got a question about Bob-Cad

I am currently using Bob-Cad version 21 I believe. (older) Anyway I know how to pull g-code set tools and machine one side of a part file but I am still learning. My question is how do I flip the part around in the program and pull g-code to machine the other side? or the sides of it. I can flip the part around in the views but it still pulls from the default side of that part. How do I do this? Thanks

Under the change menu you need to center your part at 0,0,0 Using the translate command. Then under the same menu using the rotate comand rotate the part so tha the side you want to machine is facing up. Make Sure the Part is centered at Z also so you can machine. For my method of machining I move the top of part down to Z 0.0 after rotating so I can always setup my machining to cut -0 values. Hope that helps.

The only other questions I have are do you guys run across any types of files that bobcad has trouble with? .dxf/step/iges I am using it and get a bunch of different types of files from people and so far it has handled most everything. I am also wanting to use this in conjunction with inventor LT to generate drawings with different isometric views. I guess my other question would be will Bobcad generate a engineer drawing file?

The short answer is 'no'. Bobcad is totally unable to produce any sort of real engineering drawings. This is also true of the Bobcad version of solidworks, which is a shame.
    Best of luck,
