    How to flatten a 3D curve for use as a boundry geometry

    I am trying to create a boundry condition for a 2D pocket. As I select around the part the boundry I am creating has a changing z value. As a result BobCad will not allow me to use this as the geometry. How can I flatten the curve(Z constant) or project it onto a plane so I can use it

    1. Create temporary plane above the part with Surfaces > Rectangular Plane

    2. Use Other > Project Curves to Surface to flatten curves onto temporary plane.

    3. Delete or blank the temp plane.

    Notes: I like creating a new layer just for the projected curves.
    It's usually quicker to project just the curves you need rather than window selecting all the extracted edges and sorting them later.
    Watch that you don't miss any small path segments.
