I want to make a simple press our of C channel. I'm trying to find information on the size of beam i need. Is there any information at all you can give me , i have looked all day for information on strength of beams size/distance. I'm Thinking of using 4" by 5.4lbs/ft channel. Here it is. Jack will be no more than 10tons |

| The bottom channel does not have enough strength when bending against the flanges as shown... I would make the bottom similar to the top and place a base plate across the two channels and add two gussets under the base plate to support the cylinder. |
